The start of summer is upon us, and while that means it’s time to think of all the ways to keep my kids entertained, it also means it’s time for the Summer Fab Fit Fun box! This one did not disappoint, but that could also be because it was the first time that customers were allowed to customize EVERY item in their box. So all the items listed below were the ones I personally chose.

Mine Tan Body Skin Recovery After Sun Gel

I chose this first item simply because it’s a summer staple in our house – aloe vera gel. I will lather myself and my children in sunscreen, yet year after year I still burn. So that’s when aloe like this one by Mine Tan Body Skin does the trick! This aloe is a little more fancy than the shit you get at Target because it contains a major “it” ingredient in today’s beauty industry – Niacinamide. Niacinamide smooths skin texture and tone while also helping soothe your sunburn and it retails for $32.95.

Malin+Goetz Vitamin E Moisturizer

Next up we have Vitamin E moisturizer by Malin+Goetz. Fun fact: I love listening to health and beauty podcasts. And in one of them, a couple L.A. dermatologists that treat a few movie stars mentioned how under-utilized vitamin E is in most people’s skin care routine. It contains antioxidants that help protect the skin from daily environmental stressors like sun exposure and pollution. Sign me up for that shit! Just apply it before your makeup and sunscreen and you’re good to go! It retails for $50.

Scentuals Vitamin C Facial Serum

I love incorporating Vitamin C into my skin care routine, so when this baby popped up as an option, I jumped on it. I’m currently using one Sephora sells by Paula’s choice that I loooooove. This one is Scentuals Vitamin C Facial Serum. Vitamin C is one of my favorites because it fades hyperpigmentation, so if you were a dumb fuck like I was in your youth and didn’t religiously apply sunscreen, you no doubt are seeing those signs of aging crop up on your face. I have quite a few sun spots on my shoulders and forehead from years of sun damage, and vitamin C serums fade them dramatically. I recently got an IPL treatment done on my face (IPL is intense pulsed light therapy and is also referred to as a photofacial) and that has been GAME CHANGING for lightening up my hyperpigmentation. I’ll be writing a completely different blog down the road about that experience! Until then, if you can’t afford a photofacial or it’s not your thing, then throw vitamin C into your routine. Just make sure it’s the first thing you put on underneath your sunscreen/moisturizer! This retails for $45.

Seraphine Botanicals Fruit Butter Lip Mask

For the last beauty product in this quarter’s box, I give you Seraphine Botanicals Fruit Butter Lip Mask. Their website states it is, “An intensive overnight lip mask that envelopes the lips with shea butter and apricot kernel oil to help deliver intense hydration, softness & elasticity while you sleep. The formula gently melts onto skin, rescuing it from early signs of fine lines, imparting a rich, dewy finish. Can also be used during the day as a powerful reparative lip balm.” It retails for $25 and you simply apply to clean lips at bedtime.

Blush Pineapple Tray

The first houseware I pulled out of the box was this adorable Pineapple ice tray by Blush. I think an ice tray is pretty self-explanatory so I’ll leave you with this – cut up strawberries and pineapples and line the tray with them before filling it with water. Then your pineapple shaped ice will be bougie AF.

Art+Cook Citrus Squeezer

For the last kitchen item, I got the Art+Cook Citrus Squeezer. Once again, it’s a self-explanatory item and retails for $10.

Summersalt Neoprene Beach Tote

Lastly, the most expensive item in the box was this Summersalt Neoprene Beach Tote. It retails for $80 and is water resistant with durable webbing on the handles. It also comes in turquoise but I had to get the pink and red combo because it reminds me of the Kate Spade diaper bag my best friend, Jenna got me for my baby shower years ago when my first daughter was born. I love pink and red together on anything really!

The total worth of this quarter’s box was $302.95! While I love that Fab Fit Fun now lets you customize the entire box, it did take the surprise factor out of the unboxing. But the plus side is I loved everything in the box! If you are interested in trying a Fab Fit Fun box, I still have a few starter boxes left to share! Just send me a private message to gracebeautyandfbombs@gmail.com. or comment here. Cheers to a summer where we get to go back out and do shit again!!
