If you haven’t hopped on the Fab Fit Fun train yet, you definitely should. It’s a membership where every three months, you get a box full of 8-10 beauty, fashion, or wellness products. They charge $50 per quarter for the box or $180 for a year dropping the boxes down to $45 per box if you choose that membership. I used to subscribe to Birchbox and it can’t hold a candle to Fab Fit Fun. The biggest difference is that you get all full-sized products. But I also enjoy that they’re higher-end brands and not just lotions or accessories you’d find at Target for $5. To give you a better idea of what’s inside, I will dive into my Spring 2019 box.
Pictured above is the box completely unopened. Every box is designed by a different artist and this quarter, the artist is Helen Dardik. She said her design was inspired by a trip she took to Phoenix, AZ. (All the info I am giving you of these products comes from the Fab Fit Fun magazine that they include in the box.)
Here is what the box looks like when you first open it. You’re greeted by the cover model on this quarter’s magazine, the beautiful and talented Venus Williams. Inside the magazine are articles, recipes, and most importantly, pertinent information and directions on how to use all the products in your box. (That’s what she said.)
Now I must mention that some items are for all members whereas some items are only for select members. You can upgrade your membership merely by buying the yearly subscription instead of paying quarterly, and that allows you to do a couple things. You get to customize more items in your box than regular members. Secondly, you can buy “add on” products at a discounted price earlier than regular members. I don’t really take advantage of the add-on products, but they do send you an email before your box is released showing you items you can add to it for a decent discount.
Regular members that pay quarterly are allowed to “customize” three options in their box. You receive an email a couple months before the box ships out with a list of the items you can pick from. For instance, for me as a regular member, I could have picked between either a floral robe by Mumu, an aromatherapy diffuser, or a backpack by Deux Lux, so I chose the robe. I could also choose between Quay Australia aviator sunglasses, Quay Australia cat-eye sunglasses, a picnic set by Sunnylife Lovers, or a Rose and vitamin C face mask by Korres. I chose the sunglasses because I had already been eyeing the exact same pair of aviator glasses on Quay’s website. (I was going to get rose gold versus black but I’m not too picky on that.) And my last customization option was to choose between a set of copper plated measuring spoons, mandarin/orange/bergamot lotion or a “mystery item”. I chose the measuring spoons because I cook and bake so much that I beat the shit out of my measuring spoons and cups. Below are photos of the three options I chose to customize as a regular member.
Then there are three items that are in everyone’s box. This quarter that included: Ouai leave-in conditioner, Dr. Brandt Skincare Needles No More ‘No More Baggage’ Eye De-puffing gel (that’s a fucking mouthful), and lastly, Manna Kadar’s Champagne Body Scrub.
Lastly, there are items just for select members, and these items are chosen at random by the folks at Fab Fit Fun. I lucked out that I got an iridescent bar necklace by The2Bandits because I could have gotten either a “S’ip by S’well” water bottle (I already have a “smart water bottle” by Hidrate I’m a fan of), or a translucent setting powder by Ciate London. I love this brand but I never use setting powders. So blind luck got me the “Athens” necklace by The2Bandits. That specific necklace is no longer sold on their site but you can find it on PoshMark. The second item I got in this category was the Tula Purifying Face Cleanser but I could have also gotten a jump rope by Venus Williams or a detox body brush by Daily Concepts. I am glad they gave me the cleanser because it’s made with probiotics. While we all know those are good for the gut, it intrigues me that they’re good in face wash!
The necklace was probably my favorite thing in the entire box because it’s a necklace I would buy on my own. I love bar necklaces and the iridescent stone looks like an opal. Plus it’s designed in San Francisco and one of my best friends lives near there, so just the fact that it’s from there reminds me of her.
So get this – if you add up all the items I received, it totals at $281! And I paid $50! The total value of each box this quarter can range from $227-$314 according to their magazine. If you’re interested in trying it out, head over to Fabfitfun.com to subscribe! You can cancel any time. Now excuse me while I go get pampered AF!
