It’s been a bit since I blogged. Covid has thrown a wrench in all travel plans and fun parties so I haven’t had as much material to write about. (Unless you want tips on how to stop from going certifiably insane while your kids remote-learn.) If you’ve been following me for awhile, you know I adore a good Fab Fit Fun Box. As a reminder, if you want to try one out, I can ship you a “starter box” and all you pay is shipping. Most importantly, you get to try out 3-4 full size products for free! Then, if you don’t like them, you don’t have to commit to a subscription.
My insider tip if you choose to sign up- it is worth it to buy the whole year’s worth of boxes instead of paying quarterly because you save $20 overall. The thought behind FFF is that you get full-sized products of high-end beauty products as well as housewares, accessories, and other fun odds and ends. You’re welcome to try it out here: https://share.fabfitfun.com/x/dsNp10. I always enjoy Fab Fit Fun boxes, but this one wasn’t my all-time favorite. Because it had physically larger items, I received less items, so there was less to try!
First up in this quarter’s box is the Impressions Vanity Company Touch Highlight LED Makeup Mirror. I chose this during customization time. If you’re a yearly subscriber, you get to choose 5 of your items in your box, and the rest are chosen by the team at FFF. This is handy to tweeze my eyebrows in front of since it’s got an LED light attached and I have old eyes. It retails for $45.
Next up is the Mobile White Advanced Teeth Whitening Kit. It retails for $89.99 and includes a mouthpiece, 3 syringes with whitening gel, and mobile device adapters (iOS, USB, Type-C, Micro-USB). You squeeze a little bit of the gel onto the mouthpiece, plug the mouthpiece into your phone. Then, dick around on your phone for 20 minutes while the blue light from the mouthpiece activates the whitening gel.
The downside? It only comes with 9 days worth of gel so once you’re out, you are suckered into buying the refills. They recommend six uses until your teeth are at their maximum whiteness so you basically get one and a half uses out of it.. If that doesn’t float your boat, then I strongly recommend basic Crest White Strips.
Now we have Dr. Brandt PoreDermabrasion Pore Perfecting Exfoliator. Their website states it’s, “A professional grade treatment that uses physical and chemical exfoliation to target impurities with extreme precision, deep-cleaning and refining pores to the vanishing point for a smoother, more even complexion.” It’s for all skin types and contains micro-sized aluminum oxide crystals, salicylic acid, and lentil seed extract. Just wet your skin, slap this mother fucker on, gently massage your face, and rinse. It retails for $58.00
Even though this isn’t the most expensive item in the box, it is my favorite! It’s a High Altitude Hydration Mask by Flight Mode Skincare. To apply: massage the cream in circular motions into your skin and relax! You don’t need to rinse it off at all! It’s made with Australian wild berry, aloe vera, cucumber extract, and hyaluronic acid that help plump and hydrate the skin. If you live in a dry climate like I do in Colorado, this will be your new BFF. It retails for $39.00.
I chose these Epare Cutting Board Set during customization, simply because I like to toss out my cutting boards once they’ve been used a lot. Bacteria gets trapped in them and they can just get gross if you use the cheap ones. These retail for $19.95. The appeal of them is that they are thin, BPA Free mats. I appreciate that that they have a non-porous hygienic odor resistant coating which keeps them from holding on to bacteria, mold, and mildew.
I also love that the colors help you keep track of which board is used for which type of food you cut on them. Lastly, they’re dishwasher safe so that’s always a win in my book. If it’s a hand-wash dish, or a dry-clean only garment, it has no fucking place in this house!
My other favorite product this quarter was a pretty simple one. It’s the Whish Lip Scrub in vanilla bean. It’s in a squeeze tube and you apply it like lip gloss. Then use a warm, wet wash cloth to wipe of the excess sugar and you’re good to go! It smells great, makes your lips soft, and retails for $20.00
Another item that the Fab Fit Fun people chose on my behalf was this Phase Zero Making Moves Blusher. Mine was in the shade “Making Moves” which is a neutral peach with some shimmer in it. I rarely wear blush since I have fairly pink cheeks naturally, but would be beautiful on fair skin tones who appreciate blush! It retails for $27.50
The last item in the box was a set of nOir Jewelry Ombre Leopard Scrunchies. Can I tell you how much I love that scrunchies have made a come-back? I FUCKING ADORE IT! Take me back to the 80’s and 90’s baby!!! And bonus – they don’t tear your hair out or leave hair band dents like regular hair ties do. My daughters each claimed one so I was left with just one, but now we can be triplets. These retail for $25.
In total my box added up to over $324!! The retail value of this quarter’s boxes range from $200-$370 depending on what you choose during customization and what the FFF team throws in your box as a surprise. They also threw in a free Kind granola bar for kicks. Sometimes you get a random granola bar or protein drink sample or something random as fuck.
While there have been boxes in the past I enjoyed more, this was still a high-quality box with products that I’ll definitely get my use out of. The way I look at it is I paid $45 for the box and I will get at least that much use out of the contents inside! If you want to try a starter box, shoot me a comment or message me at gracebeautyandfbombs@gmail.com and I can send you a starter box where you only pay shipping. Or feel free to just sign up here if you are already all-in. Have a wonderful Christmas and here’s to hoping that 2021 is not nearly the dumpster fire and shit show that 2020 was!
