Every quarter that this box of joy arrives, it feels like Christmas. While I used to love Summer the best as a kid, my favorite season as an adult is Fall so I was curious what the Fall Fab Fit Fun Box would bring. It did not disappoint! I am a yearly subscriber (so I pay $180 a year to get four boxes) dropping the cost down to $45 per box versus $50 if you pay for them quarterly. As a reminder, all products are full-size! This go-round, my box was worth $469.95!! That being said, let’s get started!
First up we have Glow Milk in the shade “blind date” by Beauty Crop. Enriched with coconut, this liquid highlighter gives you a subtle glow. It retails at $19.95 and I really enjoy it! It’s basically a light bronze color so it’s a perfect highlight during the summer of if you are not Casper-white like me, you can wear it year-round.
Next up is The Laundress New York Crease Release. It retails for $16 and is like a fancy Downy Wrinkle Release. It removes moderate wrinkles from clothing with just a few sprays. To be totally honest, we have a steamer so I don’t see myself using this unless I am travelling and not in the mood to iron, but it would come in handy if you don’t have a steamer!
Now we have Hythe Tranquility Sleep Mist. It’s formulated with witch hazel, lavender oil, and rice water. Before bed, simply hold the bottle 8-10 inches away from your pillow and spray a few pumps. It retails for $22. This is the one product I haven’t used yet as I still have a different brand of sleep mist sitting on my nightstand.
Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Pore Perfecting & Refining Serum was the next item I unboxed. It’s $65 and it helps dissolve waxy buildup and flushes away impurities from your pores. My skin is naturally really dry so the only time I see my pores look larger is after a workout when I’m sweaty, and it tends to be just on my nose. So I’ve used this the last week every night and it does seem to be shrinking my nose pores away!
Next up is a product I chose during customization because I’ve used many-a-tube of it! It’s Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel. Fun story – when I was four, I was wearing a skirt and I wanted to spin in circles to make my skirt fly out, as does every girl wearing a big skirt at that age, right? Anyhow, after spinning in circles repeatedly, I got dizzy, fell down, and hit my head on the big fucking leg of our couch and needed stitches in my eye brow. Since then, I’ve never been able to grow eyebrow hair where the scar is on my right eyebrow is, so I use this gel and comb my other brow hair over the scar to hide it. Like a Donald Trump comb-over, only this one is believable. I love this gel. The applicator is awesome, the gel dries fast, and it doesn’t flake or look clumpy throughout the day. A tube retails for $22 and will last you a year if you use it sparingly.
Now we have Likwid Rx Stress Reliever 100% Natural Hair Oil. You’re supposed to massage it into your scalp to relieve dry, stressed out hair, and the scent is calming as well. It’s made with jasmine oil, cold pressed sesame and cold-pressed pumpkin seed oil. You massage it onto your scalp, let it sit an hour or more, and rinse it out. I haven’t used it enough to form an opinion on it yet, but it seems nice so far. It retails for $75.
For our first non-skin care item, I bring you the Mia Melange Foldable Cotton Basket. As silly as it is, I requested this during my customization (the other options were Uncommon James copper canisters, or a backpack or tote by Botkier New York.) I chose this one even though some of the other options cost more, merely because it goes perfectly with our guest room. Our basement is finished with a modern farmhouse theme and the bathroom is black and white and the guest room is cream with pops of black. Needless to say, this $60 basket bellowed out to me, “Put me in your box!” And yep, “That’s what she said!”
The second non-skin care item I chose during customization was this pair of Nectar Sunglasses Blue Light Blocking Glasses in brown tortoise. I was intrigued by the thought of blue light blocking glasses. I got Lasik back in 2010 but had basically been legally blind for years and wore contacts and glasses non-stop up until Lasik. So since wearing glasses has never bothered me, even though I now have 20/20 vision, I thought these might be a good investment with all the time I spend on my computer. They’re a flattering style too which I love and they retail for $45.
The last item is also not a skin-care item and it is my favorite one of them all. It’s a Jenny Bird Austin Cuff. It retails for $135 and it was another item that called out to me during customization. I could have chosen either a “Beyond Yoga Hidden Pocket Infinity Scarf” or a “SOIA & KYO Woven Scarfigan with Fringe“. Anyhow, the cuff won out as I am a sucker for mixed metals, and just love the look of the big chunky chains. I love to layer necklaces and bracelets and this cuff does all the work for me and is pretty bad ass. If you buy the yearly subscription box versus the quarterly one, you get to customize more items than a regular subscriber. I love that because sometimes I’m in the mood for trying out new home decor versus skincare, or I want a bougie face cream that costs a fortune but is something I’d never pay full price for and that’s when customization is key.
