I can’t believe we are less than three weeks out from Easter! As usual, I like to find my kids a lot of non-candy items for their baskets. Every year, the Easter Bunny leads a trail of plastic eggs from my girls’ rooms to where their baskets are hiding. A lot of times I do non-candy egg-fillers and just shove some candy in their baskets. This year I switched it up. Half of their eggs had non-candy fillers and half had candy. Here’s this year’s line-up:

Easter Basket

Toys:

My kids are still all about squishallows. I got them each an Easter themed one to sit in front of their basket. They also are huge Jellycat stuffed animal junkies. (This brand is truly the best stuffy one out there! Their animals are the absolute softest and so fucking cute!) Here is a the one I got them. Lila got an orange bunny and Winnie got a hot pink one. Then, I got them a Barbie. Lila is about over Barbies which hurts my soul on a very deep level. But I figured I’d still toss one in her basket since I got one for Winnie. They like the kind that have bendable joints, so I found these yoga ones! Lastly, I got them a Hello Kitty plush blind bag.

Next, I got them each a fun bath bomb, a Barbie Color Reveal Easter pet, and Easter Hello Kitty chapstick.

Candy:

After that, I threw in a stereotypical chocolate bunny (is it even Easter without one of these fuckers?) And then I added some Peeps, Hubba Bubba, Sour Punch straws, and a candy necklace.

For the trail of eggs leading to their baskets, I got kinder eggs, mini orby squeeze animals, more festive Hello Kitty chapstick, Sour Patch kids, Laffy Taffy, Nerds, and chocolate eggs. (Hot tip: These are all candies I personally HATE so I am not tempted to eat them!) Out of all of the egg-fillers, the cutest things were these pre-filled eggs with tiny stuffed animals in them! My husband and I also like to fill a few eggs with cash and lotto tickets just for kicks. (A tradition Vince has carried on from his mom!)

Non-candy Easter egg fillers:

I like to switch it up every year. Last year, I filled most of my girls’ eggs with tiny non-edible shit like earrings, rings, and Easter mochis. For boys you could do micro machines, mini dino eggs, or mini Easter pop-its. I tend to go into Amazon and search for “non-candy egg fillers” or “Easter egg fillers” and scroll until something speaks to me.

I hope these ideas help if you’re stuck on what to put in your child’s basket! If you want to check out previous Easter basket posts, check out this one here and here! And if you need more non-candy egg filler ideas, check out this blog here! As always, thanks for reading and Happy Easter!
