I have never been a big gambler. As a wise Carrie Bradshaw once said, “I like my money right where I can see it – hanging in my closet.” Couldn’t agree more. However, my husband loves to gamble. And on a recent trip to Vegas for work he gambled away some money, but always being fair, he lets me shop with the same amount of money that he loses gambling. Let’s just say, when he loses, I win! Haha! So I went on a bit of splurge and figured I’d share some of my recent purchases.

Brooks Ravena 9 Running Shoes. I hate running and just don’t do it. I wish I had it in me to learn to love it but I know that ship has looooong sailed. So for cardio I ride the bike and do HIIT. I usually wear Nikes but wanted to try out Brooks and I LOVE them! They have a lot of support and were extremely comfy. Plus I love pink and they’re hot pink which is a big bonus. Side note, I buy all my shoes at DSW. I will be a forever customer after working there so long, plus they have anything and everything a girl could ask for. And they carry kids shoes too!

Colour Pop Lip sticks and glosses. This line is super affordable. Most of their stuff is under $10. I love liquid lipsticks because they last longer than regular lipsticks but aren’t as drying as lip stains and Colour Pop has an awesome one. My favorite is this one in the shade “Alyssa.” I’m already on my third tube. It’s described as “muted pink” but is pink with a darker nude/beige undertone. I also bought some pressed pigment eye shadows from them but haven’t used them yet.

A subscription to FabFitFun. I LOVE these boxes. I’ve had three so far and they’re fantastic. It’s like Christmas comes every three months with these. You can either buy a yearly subscription for $179 or pay $50 quarterly. When I first started it they had a promo where the first box was 40% off. Google their promos before you sign up, as they always have discounts off your first box. I love them because you get all full-sized products and usually just one product alone retails for $50 and you get a bunch of them! My last box included a full-sized jar of Moroccan Oil Hair Treatment Mask, and that sucker alone retails for $43 (and is worth every penny if you have fine hair.) Even at the base level of membership, you get to customize three items each quarter out of every box. For instance, for this upcoming box I could choose between a $65 pair of Quay sunglasses, a jar of KORRES Wild Rose Vitamin C Brightening Sleeping Facial or a SunnyLife Picnic set. (I chose the sunglasses because I love aviators and had been eyeing this pair anyways!) And that is just one of three items I can customize!

Some new dresses from Lulus. My cousin, Mary and I are going to Nashville in May and I wanted some fun, springy dresses for the trip. The specific ones I bought were this one for sight seeing during the day and this one for a dressier night out on the town.

This maxi-dress from Red Dress Boutique. It actually is long enough guys! That’s pretty fucking incredible. It’s not long enough I can wear it with heels but it is long enough with sandals, and that’s fine by me. Amazonians can’t be choosy.

Candles and wallflower refills from Bath and Body Works. I LOVE their 3-wick candles. And if you are on their email list, while you will get an email a day (which gets a bit excessive in my book,) they have their candles and wallflower plugs/refills on sale all.the.time. So don’t be stupid and pay full price. Wait a week or two and get them half off. My favorite scents for Spring are any of the fruity ones like Lemoncello or Peach, and in the Fall I like anything that smells like dessert like Pumpkin Vanilla Cupcakes or Apple Cinnamon Waffles.

Costume jewelry from Charming Charlie. Charming Charlie’s is like Claire’sBoutique, but for adults. They sell mainly costume jewelry and it’s all very affordable. They also sell handbags, scarves, some housewares, and even some clothing. They’re clothing is not very high-quality to me though, and the jewelry is not intended to last forever like something you’d get at Tiffany’s. But it’s cute, trendy, and affordable. I got some novelty coffee mugs that I thought were cute but they’re hand wash only, so those little assholes are never going to get used in this household. So check the bottom of their mugs before you buy them unless you’re fine hand-washing them. I got this necklace though and love it! I am a sucker for dainty jewelry.

As you can see, I ran the gamut on items I bought on my spree. And like I tell Vince, when you shop instead of gamble, you’re always a winner! So thanks Vince, for letting your wife flex her shopping muscles!
