Contents for a Box of Sunshine!

My best friend Jenna, lives in California. We’ve known each other since second.fucking.grade! While it sucks that we can’t just go out for a glass of wine or hang out, we still keep our friendship in tact through phone calls, texts, and the like. Lately, she’s had a lot on her plate so I thought I’d surprise her with a “box of sunshine”. When you do a quick google search, you can find pre-made ones, but I wanted mine to be more personalized. So I went to Ulta, Target, and then found one particular item off a specialty site. If you have a close friend that lives out of state or even a family member that just needs a little cheering up, a box of sunshine oughta do the trick! Here’s what I picked for this particular box:

Personal care items:

I wanted most of the items to be yellow. Afterall, it’s a box of sunshine – not of shit. Then I threw in teal since that’s Jenna’s favorite color. I got the boujie bath bomb, pineapple bath bomb, pineapple sugar scrub, lemon sheet mask, and pineapple lip balm all from Ulta.

An item to make them laugh:

In this case, it’s this candle that says “You’re the best” that I found at Target. I HAD to get it even though it’s not necessarily funny but it is our inside joke.

Something personal:

I ordered this bracelet off of a site called Mantraband. I found it by googling what I wanted it to say and then searched around ’til one caught my eye. It says “La Vie Est Belle” and is a sentiment shared between Jenna and her late mother. And the thought that life is beautiful seems like the perfect notion to add to a box of sunshine.

Something Inspirational:

I don’t like to venture so far into inspirational that it turns corny as fuck. And since Jenna is like me where we like to focus on self-improvement, this book called out to me. And bonus – it’s yellow!

Lastly, I threw in a few things for her sweet kiddo, Kennedy. I got the pineapple pop-it off Amazon, and the pineapple watering can, scented sidewalk chalk, and candy were all from Target!
