Welcome!

I'm Susie, a stay-at-home mom, foul-mouthed wife, world traveler, sucker for fashion, and everything in between!

I'm a born-and-raised Colorado girl currently living in Castle Rock with my husband, two daughters, two cats, and a dog. I started my blog on this little corner of the internet to find other women like me. (The ones who are juggling kids, hobbies, chaos, friends, and a personality that’s just a touch “too much” for PTO/PTA meetings.) Speaking of PTO: I’m very involved in my kids’ elementary and middle schools. I’m the PTO’s Social Media Director, President of the SAC, and the room mom who shows up with themed snacks because I don’t know how to chill. I love traveling, cooking, crafting, and I go feral for home décor. Holidays? I decorate like I’m competing on HGTV and the prize is my sanity. I’ve been a vegetarian since I was six, and I have recipes, hosting tips, travel hacks, and fashion finds coming out of my ears. I also lost my brother to suicide in 2008, which massively shifted the way I live my life. It taught me to stop sweating the small stuff and say “fuck off” to anyone/anything that brings bad vibes into my orbit. My aunt always said my cousin and I “looked like angels until we opened our mouths.” Well, that’s still true. So if you clutch your pearls over a few cuss words (fine…many cuss words) or the occasional makeup-free selfie, this probably isn’t your cup of tea. But if you’re here for real talk, creativity, and good laughs, grab some coffee (preferably in a Rae Dunn mug), buckle up, and enjoy the ride.

Sadly my Grandpa lost his battle with pneumonia/MRSA, but my MIL is on the mend thank the lord. Anyhow, I wrote this Easter weekend but am […]

You can make it vegan very easily, just don’t top it with the cheddar cheese at the end. 🙂 And take these guidelines loosely. […]

I can’t even remember which site I stole this recipe off of, but it’s a good one. I make these when I’m trying to eat a bit healthier. (Cough cough, like at the end of Girl Scout cookie season cough cough.) They give you a tiny hit of dark chocolate to curb your sweet tooth, […]

What No One Tells New Moms

I’ve gotten so caught up in giving tips for classroom parties, recipes, and skincare recommendations, that I felt it was time to cut through the bullshit and get real. Like, really real. I was inspired after discussing with Vince all the things we had to learn the hard way as new parents. Our neighbor just […]
