With Easter less than three weeks away, it’s time to bring on some Easter Basket ideas that involve more than just candy! I did include some candy in the baskets, but to be honest, you don’t even need a single piece to make them look adorable! Let’s dive in.
I have two girls, so obviously the items will be girl specific, but I included ideas for boys too. You can swap out the Easter Barbie for an action figure, the jewelry for Hot Wheels, and the stuffed animal for plastic dinosaurs, balls, bubbles, chalk, etc.
Easter Toy:
There are two main stars of this basket. The Cutie Reveal Barbie and the Jellycat Brand Snuggle Bunny. My oldest daughter was gifted her first Snuggle Bunny from my Grandma when she was an infant. Years later, I still haven’t found a brand of stuffed animals that is as soft and nice as Jellycat. I tend to get my girls’ Jellycat animals from Nordstrom or a local boutique we have in town. But you can google it and find small online shops that sell them too!
A Blind Bag Item:
The other thing I’ve learned from my own children as well as their classmates – blind bag toys are where it’s fucking at! For my girls, I got them a Present Pet Mini. Other options for girls include: LOL dolls, or Mini Disney Princess Dolls. For boys: FGTeeV figures, Marvel Battleworld Balls, or Super Mario Hot Wheels blind bags would all be safe bets!
A Fidget Toy. Bonus if it’s Easter themed:
If I’ve learned one thing from working school store at my daughters’ school every other week, it’s that fidget toys are a big fucking deal. Whether it’s pop it balls or toys, wacky tracks, or orby stress toys, they’re all a huge hit! For my kids, I chose a Hello Kitty pop it from Claire’s and a pop-it pineapple purse from Amazon. For brownie points, do an Easter pop it like these!
Something to Wear:
Next up, toss something in their Easter basket that they can wear for spring. For boys, go for a baseball cap. For my girls, I got them matching sunglasses from Claire’s.
Small Accessories:
My girls recently had their ears pierced and finally get to take their first set out right before Easter hits. To celebrate, I got a fuck-ton of earrings from them. I got a few nicer pairs from In Season Jewelry. All of their earrings are hypoallergenic and are cute AF to boot.
To finish off the Easter basket, I tossed in a few pieces of candy. Bubble tape, push-pops, a Peep marshmallow stick, and the stereotypical chocolate bunny all made the cut. However, as I said before, you don’t need candy at all to make this basket complete!
Easter Egg Fillers:
We like to leave a trail of plastic eggs that lead our girls to their Easter baskets. The past few years I tended to fill their plastic Easter eggs with things like Starbursts, jelly beans, chocolate eggs, and the like. So this year I shifted gears since I WAY over-bought earrings. I chose all small accessories as their egg fillers.
Accessories: I also got these cute hair clips since they were festive little bunny heads. Then I tossed in a some bunny scrunchies, rings, and necklace sets too. Hot tip: My mom worked for Claire’s and shared a very useful tidbit with me. When you buy 3 Claire’s brand items, you get 3 more items of equal or lesser value FOR FREE!!! This deal is only in store. However, right now they have almost everything on their site half-off right now! RUUUUNNN! And now you see how I got fucking carried away, right?
We have a Disney cruise coming up, and one tradition they have is to do a “pin-swap” on deck one evening. So I also got each girl some Disney Princess Pins they can trade with other kids during the pin-swap!
Easter egg contents for boys: Simply swap out the jewelry and hair accessories for these mini metal Minecraft figures, miniature dinosaurs that grow in water, or these super hero figures. Voila! You’re all set!
If you still need more Easters basket ideas, feel free to check out baskets I’ve done in the past here and here!
