Mother’s day this year is on Sunday, May 14th. Shopping for my mom is one of my favorite things to do, because we love the same kind of shit. But for those of you who are stuck on what to get, (looking at you husbands,) here are some no-fail gift ideas.
Spa Gift Ideas for Mother’s Day:
Shower Bombs are a great gift idea. I love bath bombs too, but realize that not every woman may like stewing in her own filth. That’s when shower bombs are a girl’s best friend!
Silk pillow cases are also a must-have for any woman. I even have them on my 9 and 6 year old’s pillows to keep their hair from getting so tangled.
A funny candle is also great, so long as your mom has a sense of humor. (Which I feel like we have to in order to survive raising tiny humans.) I love this one and this one.
Jewelry options for Mother’s Day:
You can’t go wrong with jewelry! Some of my favorite pieces of jewelry are ones that my husband and mom got me that revolve around my kids’ names or birthstones. I won’t lie, both my kids have August birthdays and I hate peridots. Lime green just isn’t my thing, so I prefer jewelry with their names or initials on it instead. I love this pendant and this one. And if your wife is not an asshole like me and likes her kid’s birthstone, then this one, this one, or this one are all great options.
For the mom who likes to cook:
I may be in the minority, but I’m never offended if I get new cleaning or cooking supplies. I realize some women might scoff at a new vacuum or nice set of pans, but to me, those are useful gifts I actually appreciate!
If your mom or wife likes to cook, I highly recommend this cutting board. John Boos blocks are truly the best. And for an add-on gift, you can toss in some Boos Block Board Cream.
This pink pan set is cute as fuck, plus it’s ceramic nonstick coating is derived from sand and free of PFAS, PFOA, lead, and cadmium that is easy to clean. Can’t go wrong with that!
This “mommy and me” apron set is adorable and useful. Vince laughs every time I wear my apron like 1950’s housewife, but the reality is, it saves a lot of my clothes from grease splatters and stains.
Gardening Mother’s Day Gifts:
I’m not the green thumb of our house – my husband is. But I love to plant our potted flowers. This set is so cute and has everything you need. Toss in some fun gardening gloves and some flowers from Home Depot and you’re good to go. I also bought myself this mat so that when I’m kneeling down forever on our cement porch, my knees don’t get so beat up.
Subscription box ideas:
This gift requires some foresight so that you can have the first one ordered before Mother’s Day hits. But the beauty is that you pay for the entire year and your mom will get a gift every three months! Each quarter, it’s a sweet surprise to see what will be in the box. My stand-by recommendations are Fab Fit Fun if your mom is into personal care items, or Habitation Box if she likes home decor. Or you can do a food subscription box like Daily Harvest or Harry & David. Hot tip: If you use my Habitation Box code and add in SUSIE10 at checkout, you get 10% off the box! I also have a couple free starter boxes for Fab Fit Fun you’re welcome to have! Just shoot me a message or comment below.
I hope these ideas inspired you in some way to find a good gift for you mom. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there, and as always, thanks for reading! To check out other gift ideas for mom, read this one here or here.
